There’s something magical about the start of a new year. It’s a clean slate, a chance to set intentions and take steps—big or small—toward becoming the best version of yourself. For 2025, I’m focusing on balance and mindfulness. Some of my goals are big, like growing my tallow-based skincare company, Lineage Natural Cosmetics, and spending more time with my family. Others are small but deeply personal, like carving out a few minutes each day for self-care—and yes, remembering to use my water flosser daily.
One of my simplest but most meaningful goals? Reversing the signs of aging naturally, especially as I navigate the changes that come with being 44 and entering perimenopause. That’s why I’ve embraced Facial Gua Sha, a gentle technique that’s quickly become one of my favorite rituals for feeling refreshed and centered.
And that’s where our newest product comes in: the Amethyst Gua Sha Stone.
What Even Is Gua Sha?
Gua Sha is an ancient practice with over 2,000 years of history in traditional Chinese medicine. The name itself means “scraping” (Gua) and “sand” (Sha), referring to the release of stagnant energy or toxins in the body.
While body Gua Sha can be intense, facial Gua Sha is a refined, gentle version that promotes:
• Lymphatic drainage to reduce puffiness.
• Tension relief for a more relaxed appearance.
• Improved circulation for healthier, glowing skin.
This simple yet effective practice helps flush out toxins, reduce inflammation, and even soften fine lines. Over time, it can enhance your skin’s elasticity and make your complexion look more sculpted and vibrant.

Why Amethyst
Amethyst isn’t just beautiful—it’s believed to have calming, detoxifying properties that pair perfectly with the goals of Gua Sha. This natural crystal stays cool to the touch, which helps reduce swelling and redness as you massage. Amethyst has long been associated with balance, relaxation, and clarity, making it an ideal material for a self-care ritual.
Using an amethyst Gua Sha stone not only enhances the benefits of the massage itself but also adds a touch of luxury and mindfulness to your skincare routine.
How to Use the Amethyst Gua Sha Stone
If you’re new to Gua Sha, don’t worry—it’s simple, soothing, and takes just five minutes. Here’s how to get started:

Step 1: Prep Your Skin
Start with a clean face. Apply a few drops of Ever Gold Facial Oil to create a smooth surface for the stone. This ensures the tool glides effortlessly without pulling or tugging.
Step 2: Start with the Neck
Gently glide the stone from your collarbone up to your jawline. This opens up lymphatic pathways and sets the stage for the rest of the routine.
Step 3: Define Your Jawline
Place the stone at the center of your chin and sweep along your jawline toward your ear. This helps reduce fluid buildup and creates a more defined jawline.
Step 4: Sculpt Your Cheekbones
Using the flat edge of the stone, glide from the side of your nose outward toward your temples, following your cheekbone’s natural curve.
Step 5: De-Puff Under Your Eyes
With the smaller edge, glide gently from the inner corner of your eye outward to your temple. Be very gentle, as the skin in this area is delicate.
Step 6: Smooth Your Forehead
Starting at the center of your forehead, glide the stone outward toward your hairline. This helps release tension and softens the appearance of fine lines.
Each movement can be done 5–15 times, always moving in upward and outward motions. Use light to medium pressure—this is about relaxation, not force.
What to Expect From Gua Sha
With Gua Sha, you’ll see immediate results like reduced puffiness and a more refreshed appearance. Over time, regular use can:
• Boost circulation for a healthier glow.
• Improve skin elasticity.
• Soften fine lines and wrinkles.
It’s a small commitment with noticeable benefits, making it a perfect addition to even the busiest routine.

New Year, New Rituals
As I step into 2025, I’m reminded that self-care doesn’t have to be complicated. Whether it’s spending time with loved ones, focusing on my goals, or embracing small but meaningful rituals like Gua Sha, this year is about showing up for myself in ways that feel intentional and sustainable.
The Amethyst Gua Sha Stone has become one of those small changes that makes a big impact. It’s not just about skincare—it’s about carving out a moment to slow down, breathe, and reconnect.
So, as we all set our intentions for the year ahead, why not include a little extra self-care in the mix? After all, 2025 is about becoming the best version of ourselves—inside and out.
Love,
Lia
