Why We Shouldn’t Fear the Sun: The Truth About Sunlight, Sunscreens, and Natural Protection

Why Are We Trying to Block the Sun? (And Why I’m Not Okay With It)
Lately, I’ve been paying closer attention to some of these so-called “conspiracy theories,” and honestly… some of them aren’t sounding so crazy anymore.
One that really caught my attention recently? The fact that governments around the world are actually exploring ways to block or dim the sun.
At first, I thought, “No way, that can’t be real.” But it is. It’s called solar geoengineering, and it’s being seriously funded, researched, and even tested right now.
The UK government, for example, has already committed £56.8 million to solar geoengineering projects — trying things like spraying reflective particles into the stratosphere or using seawater to brighten clouds, all in an effort to bounce some sunlight back into space and “cool the planet.”
And if I’m being honest with you… it’s hard not to connect some dots here.
We’ve already been bombarded for years with messaging that the sun is bad for us, that we should hide from it, avoid it, block it at all costs.
Maybe — just maybe — part of the bigger agenda here is to condition us to believe that the sun is dangerous… so when they start literally blocking it, we don’t question it too much.
Sounds crazy? Maybe. But the more you dig, the harder it is to ignore.
The Sun Isn’t the Enemy
We’re made to interact with sunlight. It’s essential — not optional — for human health.
Sunlight triggers vitamin D production, which supports:
Bone strength
Immune system regulation
Hormone balance
Mood and mental health
Cancer prevention
There are countless studies showing that low vitamin D levels are linked to autoimmune diseases, depression, sleep issues, and even higher risks of certain cancers
On top of that, sunlight helps regulate our circadian rhythms — the body’s natural sleep and wake cycle — and boosts serotonin (your “feel good” hormone).
The issue isn’t the sun itself. It’s burning and overexposure. Moderation is key.
But somehow, that message got lost… replaced by fear campaigns and chemical products.
What’s Hiding Inside Most Sunscreens?
And here’s where it gets even messier.
If the goal was really just to protect us, why are we being pushed toward chemical sunscreens that are packed with ingredients that can seriously harm us?
Here’s what’s lurking inside most commercial sunscreens:
Oxybenzone and Octinoxate: Two of the most common chemical UV filters, both of which are endocrine disruptors (they mess with your hormones) and are proven to damage coral reefs.
Retinyl Palmitate: A synthetic form of Vitamin A that can accelerate skin tumor growth when exposed to sunlight.
Synthetic Fragrance and Parabens: Common allergens and hormone disruptors hiding behind innocent-sounding labels.
Nano Zinc and Titanium Dioxide: These nano-sized particles can potentially penetrate your skin barrier and enter your bloodstream — long-term effects still unknown.
We’re rubbing these ingredients into our skin — our largest organ — and baking them under UV rays.
It’s no wonder so many people are starting to question whether conventional sunscreen is really about protecting us, or if it’s just about selling products and pushing fear.
There’s a Better Way: Our Tallow-Based Natural Sunscreen
This is why I created our Lineage Natural Cosmetics Tallow-Based Sunscreen.
I wanted real protection — without the junk.
Something that works with your body, not against it.
Our natural sunscreen is handcrafted in small batches with simple, whole ingredients:
Grass-Fed Tallow: Rich in vitamins A, D, E, and K. Deeply nourishing, healing, and supportive of your skin’s natural barrier.
Organic Coconut Oil: Mild SPF properties, antimicrobial, deeply moisturizing.
Non-Nano Zinc Oxide: Our UV-blocker — sits safely on top of the skin, reflecting UVA and UVB rays, without absorbing into your bloodstream.
Local Beeswax: Provides a breathable, water-resistant barrier without clogging your pores.
That’s it. No endocrine disruptors. No chemicals you can’t pronounce. No hormone-messing garbage.
Just real, whole, safe ingredients.
The Bottom Line
The sun is not our enemy.
Our bodies are designed to thrive with sunlight — when we interact with it responsibly.
The real danger isn’t coming from the sky. It’s coming from the chemical cocktails we’re told to slather all over ourselves every single day.
At Lineage Natural Cosmetics, we’re about getting back to what’s real.
Real ingredients. Real protection. Real connection to nature.
If you’re ready to ditch the chemical sunscreens, stop living in fear of the sun, and protect your skin the natural way — our tallow-based sunscreen has your back.
Because nature didn’t get it wrong. We did. And it’s time to start trusting it again.
Love, Lia
